I am a 47-year-old Mill Valley native, an avid outdoorsman, and a great deal of time painting, fly-fishing, surfing, and spending time with friends, family and my yellow labrador, Seamus.
I have been painting abstract oil paintings for about three or four years. I started out taking painting classes at College of Marin and continue to be inspired by landscape and representational and portraiture painters, honing my skills further as an abstract painter.
My work continues to evolve and is influenced by landscape, representational and portraiture painters including Bay Area Figurative Movement artists David Park, Elmer Bischoff and Richard Diebenkorn, and many earlier painters, among them, Joan Mitchell, Albert Gleizes, Gwendolyn Knight, Edgar Degas, Lee Krasner, Pablo Picasso and Willem and Elaine de Kooning.
